Two versions of the new Insignia and the Grandland X SUV have all made their debut on the Vauxhall Frankfurt stand.

Both the Insignia GSi, a performance version of the large car with all-wheel-drive, and the off-road styled Insignia Country Tourer are unveiled at the show virtually as they go on sale.

The Insignia GSi, reviving a nameplate last seen on the Vectra, gains a new FlexRide chassis setup and Bremb o brakes to support its performance-pitched image. The 2-litre turbo petrol engine generates 260hp and is matched to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, with paddle shifts on the steering wheel.

The new Country Tourer is distinguished from its Insignia siblings by its black protective cladding and silver front and rear skid plates. It sits 20mm higher than the stock Insignia, and uses all-wheel-drive with torque vectoring and a pair of multi-plate clutches in place of the usual rear differential.

Premium space

The Grandland X completes the three-strong SUV line-up, following on from the Crossland X launched earlier in the year. As its name suggests 200mm longer than the Crossland X, it retains a five-seater layout, being pitched as the most premium and spacious model in the SUV range.

Vauxhall has also unveiled in business shuttle form. The Tourer Elite will be offered with a 1.6-litre CDTi BiTurbo engine with 125 or 145hp, in either L1 or L2 body lengths. Alongside it will be a lifestyle pitched variant, the , which a third-row bed. It will be available with the 1.6-litre engine in both power outputs but in L2 body length only, and both new models will be built at the brand’s UK van plant in Luton.
