Impressive?  Not for long – this record was quickly smashed by a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO was sold for a breathtaking .

But it’s more than just a few stand-out sales.  The classic-car market has soared from US$144 million in sales made in 2000, to a whopping .

You can’t just buy any old car – it’s the best and most expensive classic cars that are worth so much more than their price tag.  You have to find a car that is timeless in style and grace, and drives like a dream.

And most importantly, what do the Mercedes W196 and the Ferrari 250 have in common?  Well, apart from being stunningly successful racers, they are just plain sexy…

So where’s the best place to start looking for a collectible classic car that’s likely to appreciate?  The golden age of sexy cars – the 1960s.
